One of my aims when building a site is to make it as accessible as possible. What do I mean by accessible?
There are many different technologies in use on the Internet today from JavaScript to Flash animation's and movie viewing programs like Quicktime. Although these are great and make my page viewing more interesting I cannot assume that everyone has the ability to do so.
I also need to take into consideration those using adaptive technology, such as screen readers, people with older browsers, images turned off... to name but a few accessibilty issues.
There are many other commonly used phrases; compatibility, useabilty... it is sometimes difficult to decide which areas belong under which heading? I'm keeping it all under the heading of accessibilty, so not to confuse anyone (or myself!)
There are many things you can do to try and make your pages accessible, to what extent is your choice.
